What is Temporal Solitaire?

Temporal Solitaire is the only fanlisting approved by The Anime Fanlistings Network (which was formerly a part of and is still closely affiliated with TheFanlistings.org) for Sailor Pluto/Meioh Setsuna (also known as Trista Meioh in the North American dub) from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon). This fanlisting is for the character in all series, including the anime, manga and musicals (seramyu/seera myu) and all incarnations, including Meioh Setsuna/Trista Meioh, Sailor Pluto, Super Sailor Pluto, Sailor Star Pluto and Princess Pluto.

Who is Sailor Pluto/Meioh Setsuna?

Meioh Setsuna (Trista Meioh) is Sailor Pluto, one of the four Outer Senshi in the anime/manga series Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon). She is the senshi of time, the lone and solitary soldier who stands guard at the Time Gate (also known as the Door of Time and Space). Though she does later join the other Senshi in fighting the evils that threaten the planet, even then she mostly stays in the background, getting involved only when absolutely necessary.

Her main duty other than guarding the Time Gate seems to be watching over and guiding Chibi-Usa (Rini), who she is very fond of and kind to, and whom she calls "Small Lady." In fact, when we first meet her, she appears in Chibi-Usa's Luna P ball to speak to the other Senshi, and she later helps them go to the future to aide Small Lady. The next time the Senshi encounter her, it is discovered that the Garnet Orb (which rests on top of her Garnet Rod, a key shaped staff that Pluto uses both to fight and control the Time Gate) is one of the three Talismans used to summon the Holy Grail. She leaves again and is next seen during the Sailor Stars season when she takes baby Hotaru (formerly Saturn) from her father and moves in with Haruka (Uranus) and Michiru (Neptune).

Though lovely, beautiful, intelligent and wise, Setsuna is a rather reserved and isolated character. She's kind and gets along well with almost everyone, but chooses to keep her true self closed off and remain in the background. Due to this choice, and the huge weight of responsibility she carries regarding her duty, she is always set somewhat apart from all of the other characters in the series, including the other Senshi. She's mysterious and complex, but has a stong sense of honor and loyalty that remains unaffected by the loneliness that seems so apparent in her.

What about the layout?

The site is skinned, so there are three different layout choices at present:

v.1 standalone, which features an image of Sailor Pluto from the anime standing alone with her Garnet Rod in hand

v.2 classic elegance, which features an image of Setsuna from the manga in an elegant dress and jewels holding a glass

v.3 shades of garnet, which features altered and recolored images of Sailor Pluto/Setsuna from both the anime and manga

What about the site?

The site name came to me fairly quickly, which is unusual. The word "temporal" (defined as "of or relating to time") seemed to fit perfectly since Setsuna is the senshi of time and guardian of the Time Gate (also known as the Door of Time and Space). I decided on "Temporal Solitaire" because her duty is a solitary one, that isolates her from others and causes her to lead a very lonely life most of the time.

The graphics were all done by Selene la Luna (unless otherwise noted). The majority of the original images used are from my personal files, which were all saved years ago, before I started taking note of where I got my images from. The original images from the musicals (seramyu) were found at SERA*Nova. The PHPFanbase 2.1 script used on this site is Copyright 2003 Sasha, nothing-less.net. All rights reserved.
